Welcome to Bamboo Children!
Bamboo Children’s Society, a registered Canadian charity, is an organization dedicated to promoting the positive development of children and youth in Canada and Indonesia.
In order for children to succeed, attention must be given to their academic, social-emotional and physical educational needs. Bamboo Children is committed to supporting children and youth in these ways so that they transition to adulthood and become contributing citizens.
100% of all donations made to Bamboo go toward direct services to children (e.g, school tuition, school uniforms, supplemental education). We do this through not having any paid administrative staff. All people associated with Bamboo Children in Canada generously donate their time and expertise.
In addition to supporting children and youth so that they can complete school through to senior high in Indonesia, we also strive to assist these youth to gain post-secondary training. In this way, they are more likely to gain employment that will allow them to break the cycle poverty.
We are currently raising funds in order that 5 girls can attend post-secondary training in Indonesia. Two girls are already in their third year of university through the support of Bamboo Children. Three girls have started their first year of university.

In Canada, we focus on working with children and youth throughfacilitating workshops in which children and youth learn about dimensions of resiliency and how they can apply this learning to their own lives. Most of the children and youth who we work with are newly arrived to Canada.
